Florence (Firenze) & Pisa trip. Part I

Quick reminder: I wasn't came here for vacation, but company trip for training. And i only travel on weekend. =/

So, after my trip to Seravalle, i'd another weekday of working life.
On the next weekend i had, we went to Florence & Pisa.

Quote from wiki: Florence is a capital city of the Italian region Tuscany and of the province of Florence. It is the most popular city in Tuscany.

Florence, which also known as Firenze.
It's basically more to the middle of Italy, where Milan is more to the North.
Pisa and Florence are just within an hour of journey thru train.
So, our plan for the week was to Florence for a night and Pisa in the next morning.

This is the Milano Centrale, the main station in Milan city.
To gain more time to walk around, we chose the early train in 6.55am to Florence.
And we had to wake up at 5.30am to get ourself ready before the train goes off.

The train we took was the normal train, which costs us 29.50 for each trip.
It's Inter-City type of train, which is consider normal train. Took us 3 and half hours.
If you take FrecciaRossa, which is the fast train will cost you around 53 but take you less time to reach. Around 1 hour and 45 minutes.

The train took off quite on time, so make sure you're there slightly earlier.

A photo of myself before i got into the train.

The interior of Inter-city train was normal, quite reasonable.
One thing is, you can't actually adjust your seats to make yourself comfort.
It's fixed, that's it.

Apparently there are two station in Florence/Firenze.
The one i stopped was Campo di Marte, this is a smaller station.

After 3 and half hours, we finally reach Firenze.

It's very lucky that i have my iPhone with 3G signal.
The Maps function actually helps me alot.
So this is a photo while we were walking to hostel to check in.

The Firenze, looks peaceful huh? :)

The first tourist point that we stopped on the way to hostel was Piazza Di Santa Croce.
We were just stopped by there and took some photos and had lunch at the restaurant beside there before continue to our hostel.

The statue in front the Piazza Di Santa Croce.

Thanks to my colleague, Marco Sanna who intro me HostelWorld website.
I'd made my booking at Hostel Greci at Borgo dei greci 13 one day before.

But due to the lack of room on the day we reached, the hostel people were very kind to arrange another hostel which near to the Duomo at the same price we paid. So, at the night we actually stayed in Via Dello Studio, which is just right beside the Duomo in Firenze.
Our hostel fees was 30 per person. It's very cheap for the price you can get in city!
For a budget hotel i dont think you can get 30 in the city.

So we placed our luggages in hostel, the first place we went was the Duomo.
Duomo is the italian word of Church.
This is one of the landmarks for Firenze. Must visit.

Saw the tall tower beside? We paid 6 for going up there.

There's no lift for the tower, all you have to do is climb yourself. haa..

But with the 6, you can get the breathtaking scenery.
The view of Firenze city.

For unknown reason, i like the way european building was built.

There were some fences for safety purpose, but it's big enough to squeeze your lens out there to take nice pics without the blocking of fence.

And here we are, Hadi and I took the photo together.

We continue our journey in the next post...
