My Birthday Celebration 2011

Last Tuesday, 08/11/2011 which was my 24th birthday.
I did had a happy birthday on the day and of course, she celebrated with me.

I was in Kassie's house on 12am of 08/11/2011.
she celebrated with the cake bought from 'Delectable Treats', Pavilion when the time reached.

Chocolate flavor cake, with very nice decoration. :)

Unfortunately this year my birthday falls on Tuesday and i've to work on the day.
So, night time we went to San Francisco Steak House in Melaka for dinner.
That was my very first time to San Francisco, a very well western restaurant.

Here's my well-done Steak with black pepper flavor.
No, i don't eat half done steak coz of the fresh smell.

She don't eat steak so that's her chicken chop!

Here's my present for this year. Thank you my parents and my precious Kas.

And also this photo, thanks Kas for creating this. :)

My Apple Journey, tribute to Steve Jobs

This is unbelievable, probably the longest post I’ve written in my entire blogging life especially I’ve been slack for quite a long time, but no choice lah coz the topic is my love topic. :P

As we know, Steve Jobs passed away earlier. He’s my idol since the first time I know about the Apple products, iPod Nano 3rd Gen. Ever since then, I watched the keynote from Endgadget/Gizmodo whenever I can. I’ve decided to write a post about my Apple journey to express my deepest respect to Mr Steve Jobs, so here we go.

Before I start my first Apple product, I was actually exposed by my dad with his iBook G4 a couple of years ago, which he borrowed from his school to show me. The first thing that impressed me a lot was the solidness of white plastic body, the glowing Apple logo, followed by the beautiful Mac OS sidebar. Unfortunately, this wonderful product did not last for a week in my house due to Mac OS Leopard. My dad was a long time windows user and he doesn’t familiar with Mac OS Leopard. Hence he returned to school and exchanged with another Windows laptop.

So, what was your first Apple product? Well, as I mentioned above, mine was an iPod Nano 3rd Gen 8GB Black colour. I bought it for RM849 from Machines, Mid Valley in the year 2007. It was well packed under a very simple yet elegance transparent box. The 3rd gen of iPod Nano was the newly launched product and I was deeply attracted by it. The 2” screen with shorter, wider body, cover flow playing method, & click wheel. Awesome features. When the first time I used the iPod Nano, the screen resolution did make me a big Wow with very clear and real display. A very big difference with my previous MP3/MP4 MIC(Made in China) music player.

At 2009, I couldn’t stand anymore the hotness on my arm rest area of my 3 years old Compaq Presario V3000 laptop. I bought my second Apple product, Macbook White (Late’09, 2.26GHz Core2Duo) model for RM3599 from Machines, Sunway Pyramid. As usual, the well packaging from Apple did impressed again. The transparent plastic that let you lift up the Macbook from the box was so convenient. The first start-up of laptop, with the welcome page make me feel so ‘home’. Not to forget the awesome White keyboard, Glowing Apple logo like how iBook G4 did, 13” LED Glossy screen & more. Of course, the Macbook is still serving me well till now.

I’m also a fan of iPhone since the iPhone 2G was out in the market in 2007 (if I’m not mistaken the year). It isn’t popular in Malaysia at that time and weren’t available to get as well. My first touch for the iPhone was the iPhone 3G, which owned by my gf. She bought it from Australia when she was still study there. Great phone I hold that time. Okay let’s cut short my story of molesting the iPhone 3G, I actually bought my first ever iPhone last year in 2010, the iPhone 4. I believe that a lot of you were impressed by the awesome features presented by Steve Jobs in the keynote at 2010. I, myself was impressed as well. I bought it on 31 July, 2010 which is the first day launched in Australia, on behalf of my friends who happened to travel at there. The price was AUD$799 for my 16GB Black iPhone 4. The best and awesome handphone ever I would say. Then after a year of using it, I changed to the White iPhone 4 16GB few months ago, somewhere in June/July from Maxis and still using it now. The iPhone 4 did change my life in the social network, and changed my point of view for the smartphone. Before using the iPhone I never thought that I’m able to buy movie ticket online, facebook on-the-go, twitter, surfing net, and even blogging, too! In conclusion, a great invention, Apple!

Since I’m the Apple fans, you must be very curious about iPad now. What about iPad? Well, I’m the iPad user as well. I bought my iPad 1 32GB Black Wi-fi version in December, 2010 from Epicentre, KL convention centre during a fair. The price was RM1849 at that time. It’s another awesome product from Apple (Yay I apple fanboy everything Apple sure awesome lah :P). But this really changed my light browsing usage. I can now surfing with bigger screen anywhere, as long as there’s internet available.

Half a year later, I sold my iPad for RM1300 to a forummer after 6 months of usage. I bought the iPad 2 32GB White Wi-fi version for RM1799 from Apple online store, Malaysia. I did engraved ‘Apple Addict’ as suggested by my gf on my iPad 2. The iPad 2 is indeed lighter & faster than the previous iPad 1. Unfortunately, I lost my iPad 2 during my Australia trip back in August, 2011. I feel like killing myself (just kidding), and I couldn’t live without my iPad 2. Therefore, I bought another iPad 2 32GB Black Wi-fi version after I returned from Australia. It’s been a baby to me and my gf until now. :)

My current iPad

Lastly, my apple collection until today is the Steve Jobs’ Biography. I assumed most of the fans would get it for collection, although it’s not an official product from Apple.inc. I bought it from Popular Bookstore for RM69.95, after 30% discount from RM99.90. Read for a couple page for the first day and stopped until now, probably it gonna takes quite some time for me to finish it.

So, I’ve introduced you guys about my Apple journey up to Nov, 2011. What about yours? Mind to share with me. Are you guys getting iPhone 4s? I will probably skip for the 4S this time and stick with my iPhone 4 White, until the release of iPhone 5 (probably June/July 2012).

I would call myself an Apple fans but not that kind of die-hard fans. I did not buy the iMac, Macbook Pro, Macbook Air, iPod Touch, iPod shuffle just for collection though. But for time being after I retired my Macbook White, would probably consider a Macbook Pro, Macbook Air or an iMac.

Ciao. RIP, Steve Jobs.

For installation instruction video, please watch the video.

Installation Steps:
1) Clean device using a lint free cloth.

2) Spray fingertips and the protector with solution/alcohol/clean water. (I'd used Clean tap water in my case, but alcohol is more prefer because it has faster evaporation than water.)

3) Applied the protector adhesive side down.

4) Using a credit card squeengee excess solution out. (I used credit card, to push the bubble/solution out slowly)

5) Wipe excess solution using a paper tower.

6) Allow to dry up to 24 hours, or use a hair dryer to speed up the drying process.

Enjoy your phone with the protection!

My personal experience on it:

First time when i applied it on my iPhone 4, i felt it's kind of failure for me. Coz there are quite many bubbles on it.
Until i read from the installation part online, i used a credit card to push the bubble out slowly. It works!
Some small bubbles still exist thou, left it for 24 hours. Seriously the bubbles gone! No kidding..
No my phone is quite nice with it, just that one of the edge has some dust on it. I can't avoid it coz i put it in my pocket all the time.

My trade list:
1) Vincent1602 - iPhone 4 x 1 - PAID - LG11 710 657 8MY
2) Lau (Non-forumer) - iPhone 4 x 1 - PAID - COD
3) Lein (Non-forumer) - iPhone 3Gs x 1 - PAID - COD
Here's a video to show how easily we can apply FULL body protector on phone.

iPhone 4 full review

Since there's gonna be a official launching for both Maxis and Digi telco,
Here's i come out with idea to write a full review as i can about the new iPhone 4.
Before i started my review, some of you might curious how i got it before Malaysia launch?
Well, i got it from Australia for factory unlocked set, With Aud $859, approx RM2.4k+-.
Brought back from Australia from Ahboo. Big thanks for him.
So, it's almost 2 months i've own the this iPhone 4.
Eligible for a review now? :D

First, the iPhone 4 is powered by an Apple A4 chip,
instead of Samsung-built chip in previous 3Gs.
Engadget predicted it should be below 1GHz.
Next, the RAM is 512MB on-board,
It's pretty much increase because previous 3Gs model was 256MB only.

In the box

From the outlook of the box, i'd prefer previous version which i felt is nicer.
Unsealed the box and you'll get an iPhone 4, Dock-to-USB connector, Apple Earphone with remote and mic, USB power adapter and the documentation about the iPhone 4.

The front

After activated with your iTunes account, you can start using it.
This is the classic iPhone lock screen which you've to slide the slider to unlock the screen.
There's a button which is Home button.

There's proximity sensor and ambient light sensor in the front.
Which is somewhere near the top of the screen there.
Oh ya, iPhone 4 do support front camera too!
There's a VGA camera at the front.

The back

As usual as iPhone, there's a shiny Apple logo at the back.
And also a 5-megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash light.
This is a big improvement with LED flash, easy to snap at night.

The Right side

This is the sim-card slot, you'll have a sim card eject pin in your documentation box.
Use the pin and push the hole at the right hand side of the iPhone 4.
The tray will eject after a slightly tough push.

The Left side

Start from the left button from the pics above,
That is a ring/silent switch, push it down then it will be in silent mode.
Next, it's the volume key. '+' and '-'..

The Top

There's a hole there for earphone jack, it support 3.5mm earphone jack.
I'd personally use Beat by Dr Dre Tour earphone for it.

The Bottom

Start from left, this is the mic, 30 pin hole for dock-to-USB connector, and speaker.

Retina Display

(Picture taken from Engadget.com)
The retina display on iPhone 4 is a 3.5'' multitouch screen, with 960 x 640 pixels resolution.
Image above is a comparison for the resolution between iPhone 3Gs at the left, and iPhone 4 on the right. Can you spot the difference now?
For your information, iPhone 3Gs was 480 x 640 pixel resolution.

Folder

With the great update firmware from Apple, iPhone 4 is supporting Folders.
This can be easily categorize your apps on your springboard.
Each folder can maximum keeping 12 Apps inside.
I find it quite useful if you like a clean springboard instead of messy one.

Multitasking

Nowadays multitasking is a must for smart phone. Of course iPhone 4 too.
Imagine there's SMS coming in when you're playing game, should you read it or not?
If read then your game is closed. If not how you gonna know what you message about?

FaceTime

This is the main purpose for having a VGA camera at front.
The Facetime! Introduce by Apple, the brand new video call from cellphone.
This is Wifi based webcam feature, which is free when you're connected to wifi.

From my experience in calling from Malaysia to Australia,
First you have to make sure your internet is fast enough, coz my facetime disconnected when there were 3 computers are connected to the router. But it's very smooth when 1 or none of the computer are using the internet. Anyway, this is a very good feature from Apple!

Camera
With the support of 5 megapixels still camera, it's FTW!
Supporting tap-to-focus shooting.
Video recording is supported too, with HD (720p) up to 30 frames per second with Audio.
LED Flash and also supporting geo-tagging.

Camera (Food shot)

This is the food shooting that i've tried during my lunch earlier.
Straight out from my iPhone 4 camera without editting. :)

Camera (Macro shot)

Tried a macro shot (or maybe not) on my eneloop batteries.
The focus point is tap on the third batteries.

Camera (Scenery shot)

Tried on shooting scenery at night few days ago.
This is the results.

The dead grip
Some of you must be very curious on the death grip thingy on the iPhone 4.
Mine is not as serious as what you thought.
Never experience any drop calls or watsoever.
Even if you're getting a copy of iPhone with the death grip thingy,
a case would solve it perfectly. But so far i'd not seen any bad death grip thing yet.
So, no worries on that.

The battery life
This is the only thing i would like to complain about.
It has the built-in lithium ion battery, which require charging either USB/adapter.
From my experience for 2 months, you need to charge it everyday!
With 3G turned on, wifi sometimes. The battery drain quite fast.
I'd to make sure my battery enough whenever i want to go out.
Apple should make it more capacity! hahaha..

Well, After my explanation on iPhone 4. Does it make sense?
Are you joining Apple club like me? :P

Verdict
iPhone 4 is the phone i wanted so far, with tons of applications supported.
This is the best phone that i ever own, coolest phone also.
Try it, if you're a tech lover like me, you won't regret!
If you're a game lover, you won't regret!
If you're a online freak, you won't regret! (if you subscribe data plan)
If you're a Apple fanboy, you won't regret for sure! hahaha..

Stealth Guard Protector for iPhone 4 Review

This is the very first time i received mail from United State.
First Mum was shocked, how come i hav this mail from there?
Okay, if you followed my own Twitter , you would probably know that i've registered from Stealth Guard Company with the free protector.
I was told by my gf, Kassie about this promotion.
Which i don't know what's the reason they are giving free protector for all the iPhone 4 user.

This is the envelope with United State stamp on it.

The Stealth Guard protector. It's cheap tho, and i've ordered two.
Seriously thanks to StealthGuard company for the protector.
Soon when i unwrapped the envelope, i quickly applied on my phone.

From the results, this is a failure for me.
Is it my skills or because of the protector?
This is my first time failed in putting screen protector seriously.
Never fail before.

From my side of thinking, i felt that the protector is very soft.
and it's hard to stick properly on my iPhone 4 even tho i've tried slowly.
There's bubbles easily which i wonder why.

The size isn't match perfectly with my phone, if i'm matching the camera spot with the camera, the bottom part of protector exceed my phone body around 1mm.
For the bubbles occurred, i've tried to push it using cloth.
Success removed some of the bubbles but it still looks ugly.

Maybe i should attempt the second protector instead of this one? haha.
But for now, i found myself a very efficient way to make my phone look beautiful and sexy as before.
Want to know? Seriously it looks good with this method!
Scrool down for the answer.

Okay now it looks good with my casing from DC Mugen, Ebay.
FML. epic fail.

However, still be very grateful to Stealth Guard Company with this protector.
Although my first attempt failed but i believes there's always a better results on the second attempt which i believe happens in short while.

p/s : Heard from my friends. The bubble will be auto dissipate out for some short time. Let's observe this in this few days time! :)

pp/s: Okay, after 24 hours of applied on my iphone 4. The bubbles are dissipated as what my friends told me. Now it's lesser bubble. But there's one things i've notice, the edge of the protector are dust sucker. Quite some dust on the edge now.

Everything's smooth now. Bubbles are gone! Left some dust because of my mistake during installation. Anyway, there's an installation guide from StealthGuards company itself.
